Yoga: union, joining (Sanskrit)

Yoga is the Union with your Higher Self.

Yoga is Balancing your body, mind and emotions.

Yoga is Breathing, Life energy, Meditation in motion, a Lifestyle and an Artistic expression.

Yoga is Love.

Yoga is a complete science of life that originated in India some thousand years ago. It is one of the oldest systems of personal development in the world, encompassing body, mind and spirit. In fact, the word yoga means literally joining; uniting body, mind and spirit, or in a more philosophical definition joining us with our higher Self.

Yoga techniques can be enjoyed by everyone no matter of age or physical ability. These include breathing (pranayama), yoga postures (asanas), chanting (mantra), and meditation. There are many different styles and types of yoga. In Hatha Yoga we utilize our body as an instrument to achieve this Union.

With yoga you can build a healthy body, develop a balanced mind, and make contact with your inner wisdom. Yoga gives you vitality, health and serenity. It makes you radiant, peaceful and strong, so you can meet lifes challenges and reach your full potential.

Yoga for me is a balance between physical exercise (asanas) and spirituality. Its a long path that can guide us to our own personal truth.

The limitations we may face could be physical, emotional or mental. We always have the choice to overcome them, in essence to break through them or to accept them. Perhaps meaning is to be found in the harmony of our own search.  Balance is to be found between our individual reality and truth, and the objective reality or Universal Truth and wisdom, between us and the others.

Many Yoga styles do exist, as well as teachers. This is not really important. The teacher is always there when we are ready. We are all here to find our own path.

Yoga, ultimately, is a search within.
